New Woodward Governor Control Used On Diesel Engines; Former Control Now Used On Gas Engines Only

Usage:

D343, D346, D348, D349, D353, D379, D398, D399, 3406, 3408, 3412 Industrial Engines;
G343, G353, G379, G398, G399 Gas Engines

Description of Change: A new electronic control is used with Woodward governors on diesel engines. The new control improves governor transient response (action in relation to rapid or temporary load changes), with better control of RPM and voltage output.

While the new control gives more precision in the operation of diesel engines, it will not give good stability of operation on gas engines. Because of fuel flow characteristics, the gas engine governor can not control the engine with the same degree of precision as a diesel engine governor.

For this reason, the new control is released for diesel engine models only, and the former control is still used on gas engine models. To permit better control of records and distribution, the former part numbers are canceled and new part numbers are used for both the new and former controls.

Adaptable To: All earlier engines.
