New Fuel Injection Nozzles Are Used In 3208 Engines

Usage:

3208 Engines;
Industrial (90N37285-Up);
Marine (75V4002-Up);
Vehicular (79V5380-Up) and Truck (32Y1-Up)

SUPPLEMENT: 05/09/79

ENGINE NEWS, MARCH 14, 1979, PAGE 2.

In the article "New Fuel Injection Nozzles Are Used In 3208 Engines", the 75V4002-up Serial Number shown for marine engines is wrong. Change 75V4002-up to read 75V4113-up.

--------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------

Description of Change: A new fuel injection nozzle is used on 3208 Engines starting with the serial numbers shown above. The new injection nozzle has a smaller "SAC" volume than the former injection nozzle. "SAC" volume is the remainder of fuel in the tip of the injector nozzle after injection. This gives a reduction in the amount of fuel that will get into the cylinder after each injection. The new fuel injection nozzles give a reduction in the amount of hydro-carbon emissions.

Adaptable To: The new 9N3979 Injection Nozzle Assembly is used in the engines shown above, including truck engines that are equipped with exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) systems.

This new nozzle must not be used in 3208 Engines that have serial numbers earlier than those shown. The 9N3299 and 9L6969 Fuel Injection Nozzles are still available for parts service of earlier 3208 Engines.
