Hose Clamp Recommendations For ATAAC Engines

Usage:

3406B (7FB) Truck Engines

Reference: Service Magazine, April 8,1985, Page 19, "Constant Torque Hose Clamps Available For General Use. "

To prevent leakage in the air inlet system and to maintain maximum seal integrity for long service life, Caterpillar recommends the following:

... Always use constant torque hose clamps.
... Double clamp each end of the "hump " hoses.
... Use beaded ends on the air inlet tubing.

Although this is Caterpillar's recommendation, it is NOT an OEM requirement. Caterpillar dealers should comply with this recommencation for their own protection. Customers should be aware of this recommendation to help prevent possible failures.
