Two new types of publications are available to aid in truck engine maintenance. The following is a description of the contents of each of the new types. The publications may be ordered through normal literature ordering channels.
Operation And Maintenance Management Guides will provide the user with information and instructions on increasing efficiency and reducing operating cost. This guide contains extended maintenance schedules, up to and including overhaul. The Operation And Maintenance Management Guides emphasize Value Planed Repair (repair before failure). They provide service interval information that allows the user to achieve the lowest owning and operation cost over the life of the engine. Some of the other topics discussed are Fuel Economy, Engine Performance, Cold Weather Operation, Engine Operating Cost, Extended Service Coverage and Performance Analysis Report (PAR).
