Screens Added To Inlet Air Manifolds

Usage:

All 3208 Truck Engines

Description of Change: The use of protective screens in inlet manifolds has been expanded to all 3208 Truck Engines. The new screens protect the air inlet system by keeping foreign objects out of the inlet manifold.

Adaptable As: To provide inlet manifold groups with screens, several new inlet manifold pipe assemblies have been introduced and others have been modified. Four air cleaner groups have also been changed to accept screens.

Illustration 1 shows a typical installation of an inlet screen.

Typical screen installation.

Chart A contains the inlet manifold pipes that are either new or modified and their respective screens.

Chart B contains the air cleaners and air cleaner adapters that have been changed to accept inlet screens.

Inlet screens can be added to earlier 3208 Engines between the air inlet manifold and the air cleaner/turbocharger adapter. Refer to Chart C to determine the correct inlet screen to use.
