Bolt Removed From Governor And Fuel Injection Pump Group

Usage:

3306 Truck Engines With New Scroll Fuel System (NSFS)

The S1616 Bolt has been removed from the governor and fuel injection pump groups used on the above engines. This eliminates the possibility of fuel leakage from threaded bolt hole in the governor housing. The illustration shows the former bolt location. The S1616 Bolt went through a hole in the 1W3486 or 1W3487 Pump Housing into a threaded hole in the 8N2495 Governor Housing.

This complete change is effective with fuel injection pump group serial number 76181. The fuel injection pump group serial number is stamped into the top face of the pump housing. The chart explains the phasing out of this bolt.

Location of the former S1616 Bolt in the governor and fuel injection pump group.

All former and current NSFS fuel injection pump housings and governor housings can be intermixed for exchange or rebuild. If a former governor housing (with a threaded bolt hole) is used without an S1616 Bolt, fill the threaded hole in the governor housing with 3S6252 RTV Silicone Adhesive Sealant before fastening to the pump housing.
