New Bleed Screw Used In Fuel Injection Nozzle

Usage:

3306 Truck Engines

Description of Change: The bleed screws used in the fuel injection nozzles in 3306 Truck Engines have been changed. The new bleed screw has a "TORX" socket head. The former bleed screw had a hex socket head. See the illustration. The new "TORX" socket head bleed screw will provide better sealing and more consistent torquing capability. A "TORX" T-15 Tool is required to remove and install the new "TORX" bleed screw. This tool should be available at local tool suppliers. The installation torque of the new bleed screws has not changed.

Bleed screw identification.

Adaptable As: The new "TORX" bleed screws are used in 8N7003 Fuel Injection Nozzles with date codes G-5 and H-5. These nozzles are used in 3306 Truck Engines.

The new "TORX" bleed screw is not currently serviced. If the bleed screw is damaged or lost, replace it with a 2W1230 Hex Socket Head Bleed Screw.
