3408 Truck Engines

Description of Change: The reference article tells of new crankshaft seals used in some 3406 Engines. The new crankshaft seals are used on 3408 Truck Engines.

Adaptable As: The new 2W1733 (front) and 2W1734 (rear) Crankshaft Seal Groups are direct replacements for the 7N1999 Crankshaft Seal Group, effective with 28V4693.

Special Instruction, Form SMHS8507, comes with each new seal group. A new Special Instruction, Form SMHS8508 has installation information and a list of the tools needed to install the new seals.
