Reports indicate that cylinder block and liner pitting have occurred on some engines using Dowtherm 209 FullFill in the cooling system. Caterpillar cooling system conditoner and coolant conditioner elements are not recommended for use in cooling systems using Dowtherm 209 Full-Fill. Contact the Dowtherm distributor to obtain their recommendation for the correct cooling system conditioner and coolant conditoner elements.
Caterpillar cooling system conditioner and coolant conditioner elements are effective at reducing corrosion and pitting in cooling systems using ethylene glycol based coolant.
