Install Crankshaft Thrust Bearings Correctly To Avoid Damage

Usage:

3400 Series Engines

It is possible to incorrectly install the 1W5252 Crankshaft Thrust Bearing during engine rebuild or when new bearings are rolled in. The thrust bearings can be installed backwards, causing possible crankshaft damage or bearing failure.

The back of each thrust bearing has "This Side Toward Block " stamped on it and a locating tab to prevent incorrect installation. However, the thrust bearings can be rolled in backwards by force. Use care to avoid this during engine overhaul.
