Bleed Holes On Parts Service Cylinder Heads

Some of the parts service cylinder head groups shown in the chart have a spotfaced cooling system bleed hole. See the illustration. An 8N4485 Valve Assembly should be installed in the spotfaced bleed hole. External leaks at the bleed hole may occur if the valve assembly is not installed.
In the future, the 8N4485 Valve Assembly will be installed in all parts service cylinder head groups for 3300 Series Truck Engines. Until that time, inspection of all parts is recommended. If the parts service cylinder head has a spotfaced bleed hole, install an 8N4485 Valve Assembly. Do not use the 8N4485 Valve Assembly on cylinder head groups that do not have the spotfaced bleed hole.
