The recommended maintenance interval for the intake and exhaust valve lash adjustment has been changed. The new recommended maintenance interval is as follows:
Check and adjust the intake and exhaust valve lash at the first oil change or 12,500 miles. After that, check and adjust the valve lash every 100,000 miles or once a year.
The new recommendation will help extend the service life of the valve train. The new recommendation is in effect on all new, rebuilt or exchange 3406B Truck Engines (7FB).
