Use Correct Serial Number For Remanufactured Engines

Usage:

Every remanufactured engine has an identification plate fastened to the side of the cylinder block. See the illustration. The identification plate has a "serial number" and a "reference serial number" on it. The "serial number" is the correct identification number for that specific engine. Use this number for service parts information and for dealer/customer communication. The "reference serial number" is used for identification of the specific Parts Book, Service Manual and other publications to use with the engine. The "reference serial number" must be used only for dealer/customer reference.
