Installation Of Bearing For Connecting Rod Piston Pin
Usage:
All 3208 Truck Engines With Tapered Connecting Rods
Connecting rods with a taper on the piston end are currently used in 3208 Truck Engines. The sides of these tapered connecting rods are machined at the factory after the piston pin bearing is installed. Because of this, there is no chamfer on the ends of the pin bore in the connecting rod.
If replacement of the pin bore bearing must be made, it will be necessary to grind a chamfer on the ends of the bore for easier installation of the pin bore bearings. See the illustration.
