New Specification For Clearance Between Fuel Rack Slot And Cross Link

Reference: Truck Engine News, May 19, 1982, Page 1. The article "Fuel Rack Slots Have Improved Wear Resistance," gives a specification for the maximum clearance (wear) between the fuel rack slot and the cross link ball head.

The maximum permissible clearance has now been changed to 0.38 mm (.015 "). To check this clearance, the governor housing must be removed. Then a feeler gauge can be used to check the clearance as shown in the illustration.
