Usage:
All Direct Injection, Naturally-Aspirated 3208 Truck Engines
Description of Change: A new piston and a new oil ring are used in the basic piston groups on the above engines. The new piston has a new design which has additional grooves above and below the oil ring groove. These added grooves are used as reservoirs for the oil from the cylinder walls. The oil is held in these grooves until it can drain back to the sump through the piston. The spring in the new oil rings has more space between the coils to permit the oil to drain faster.
Adaptable As: The new pistons and rings are direct replacements for the former pistons and rings as shown in the chart. The new pistons are available in standard and high compression ratios.
