Usage:
3306 Truck Engines
Description of Change: The 3306 Truck Engines now have a new crankshaft assembly with a wider crankshaft gear. The wider crankshaft gear is used with the engine front gear train that has wider gears.
Adaptable To: The new 2W7458 Crankshaft Assembly is in effect with the serial numbers 76R4985 and 63Z1. The new crankshaft assembly uses a wider 1W4405 Crankshaft Gear. The former 4N7693 Crankshaft Assembly had a narrower 7N4525 Crankshaft Gear.
Most 3306 Truck Engines use a 7N9589 Trunnion Group instead of a crankshaft seal adapter. If desired, a new 2W7458 Crankshaft Assembly can be used in 3306 Truck Engines with the 7N9589 Trunnion Group.
A few truck engines use either a new 1W4506 or former 3N1463 Crankshaft Seal Adapter. If desired, the new 2W7458 Crankshaft Assembly can be used in all 3306 Truck Engines with the 1W4506 Crankshaft Seal Adapter. A new 2W7458 Crankshaft Assembly can be used in an engine with a 3N1463 Crankshaft Seal Adapter, if the 3N1463 Crankshaft Seal Adapter is replaced with a 1W4506 Crankshaft Seal Adapter.
