3406 And 3408 Truck Engines Equipped With BrakeSavers
Description of Change: A new seal ring is used in the BrakeSaver group on 3406 and 3408 Truck Engines so equipped. The new seal ring is made of cast iron, which is not as flexible as the bronze material used in the former seal ring. The new seal ring will decrease oil leakage in conditions where the oil pressure against the seal is high. Also, the new seal ring has a larger free diameter, which makes installation easier. The cast iron material in the new seal ring will not be damaged as easily during storage and installation as the softer bronze material in the former seal ring.
Adaptable As: The new 1W4204 Seal Ring is a direct replacement for the former 9N39 Seal Ring, which is canceled.
