Top Rings For Pistons Have Two Designs

Usage:

All 3208 Truck Engines

There are two designs for the top rings for pistons used in all 3208 Engines. One ring design has a step at the top, inner diameter. The other design has a bevel at the top, inner diameter.

The operation characteristics of the two ring designs are the same. Rings of either design can be used in place of the other.

The difference in design is the result of the methods used to machine the rings.

Comparison of ring designs.
