Indications Of High Oil Temperatures In Brakesaver Circuit Can Be Caused By Wrong Gauge Connection

Usage:

3406, 3408 Truck Engines

According to field reports, some trucks equipped with 3406 and 3408 Truck Engines with BrakeSavers have a problem with indications of high oil temperatures in the BrakeSaver circuit. The indication on the BrakeSaver oil temperature gauge increases rapidly to the red range on the gauge 110 °C- 230°F) in approximately ten seconds after the BrakeSaver is activated to the maximum position.

When this problem is found on a truck, check the location where the tube from the gauge is connected to the BrakeSaver control valve. The tube must be connected in the location shown in the illustration for accuracy in the indication of oil temperature.

Correct location for connection of oil temperature gauge tube to BrakeSaver control valve.
