Procedure For Testing Electrical Displacement Control On Hydraulic System Ground Drive Pump{5070,5700,1400}

Usage:

AP-800 ( 1BF ),
AP-1200 ( 2JD ) Asphalt Pavers;
RR-250 ( 6ED ) Road Reclaimers;
SS-250 ( 6DD ) Soil Stabilizers

Use the procedure that follows to check the electrical coil in electrical displacement control.

Use a 6V7070 Multimeter or an equivalent to make the measurements in this procedure.

1. With the engine off and the electrical disconnect switch in the "OFF" position, disconnect the electrical harness from the Electrical Displacement Control.

2. Connect one multimeter lead to each pin in the connector. See Illustration 1. Measure the resistance across the two pins in the electrical connector on the Electrical Displacement Control. The resistance should be 23 ± 3 ohms. If the resistance is not correct, the coil should be replaced.

3. Connect one multimeter lead to one pin in the electrical connector on the Electrical Displacement Control and connect the other multimeter lead to electrical ground. See Illustration 2. Measure the resistance between the pin in the connector and electrical ground. The multimeter should read "OL" (open limit). Repeat the measurement for the other pin in the electrical connector. If the multimeter reading is not correct, the coil should be replaced.
