New Latch Kit Available For Rear Differential Cover{1150}

Usage:

PS-110, PS-130, PS-180 Compactors

A new latch kit is available for the rear differential cover on PS-110, PS-130, PS-180 Compactors. The new kit allows replacement of the former latch with a more reliable rubber latch. This new kit can be installed on all of the above compactors. The components of the latch kit are listed in the chart and shown in Illustrations 1 and 2. Use the procedure that follows to install the kit on the compactors.

Installation Of New Latch Kit

1. Remove the components of the former latches from the rear cover (Raygo part number C10184 for PS-110 and PS-130 Compactors or Raygo part number C127758 for PS-180 Compactors) and rear of frame.

NOTE: The new latch mount location must not induce axial twist or allow the rubber latch to contact the mounting surface when in the latched position.

2. Weld two brackets (3) on the rear of the frame in the locations shown in Illustrations 1 and 2. Note that the new latches are mounted the same distance from the center line of the machine as the former latches. For PS-110 and PS-130 Compactors, dimension (A) is 79.5 mm (3.13"). For PS-180 Compactors, dimension (A) is 81.0 mm (3.19").

3. Weld two plates (2) on the cover in the locations shown in Illustration 2.

4. Put rubber latches (1) in position in brackets (3). Install shafts (4) and retainers (5) that fasten the latches to the brackets.
