Change To Gear On Accessory Drive Shaft Assembly Gives Longer Service Life{1207,1206}

Usage:

D9H, DD9H Tractors;
594H Pipelayers;
D353E Industrial and Marine Engines

Description of Change: A new gear, with a .001" (0.03 mm) larger bore than the former gear, is used on the accessory drive shaft on the above models. The larger bore in the new gear permits installation on the shaft after the gear is heated to 500°F (260°C). Formerly, the gear had to be heated to 600°F (316°C) before installation. The use of less heat to install the gear gives harder teeth after installation. The result is less pitting of the gear teeth and longer service life.

Adaptable As: The new gear and/or new accessory drive shaft assemblies are direct replacements for the former parts as shown in the chart.
