Cylinder Liners

Usage:

Remove Cylinder Liners

start by:

a) remove pistons

1. Check to be sure that all coolant has been removed from the cylinder block.

2. Put a cover on the crankshaft bearing journals before removing cylinder liners.

3. Remove the cylinder liner, using tool group (A).

Install Cylinder Liners

1. Clean the cylinder liners and liner bores in the cylinder block.

2. Install new O-ring seals on the cylinder liners.

3. Put liquid soap on the O-ring seals and bore of the cylinder block.

4. Put the cylinder liner into position in the cylinder block. Using tool group (A) push the cylinder liner into the cylinder block.


TYPICAL EXAMPLE

5. Hold the cylinder liner in position with tool group (B) and two 5/8" - 11NC bolts 41/2 in. long. Tighten the two bolts evenly to 50 lb.ft. (7,0 mkg).

6. Check the cylinder liner projection using tool group (C). Liner projection must be .0020 to .0056 in. (0,05 to 0,14 mm).
