Control Valve

Usage:

Removal


REMOVING CONTROL VALVE AND OIL MANIFOLD
1-Control valve. 2-Oil manifold. 3-Control valve inlet line. 4-Oil cooler inlet line. 5-Bolts (five).

1. Disconnect oil cooler inlet line (4) at the swivel coupling.

2. Disconnect control valve inlet line (3) at the control valve.

3. Remove bolts (5) retaining control valve (1) and oil manifold (2).


NOTICE

The oil manifold (2) and control valve (1) are free to fall when bolts (5) are removed. Care should be taken to insure that the gasket between the manifold and control valve is not damaged.


Control Valve Installation

1. Inspect the gasket for damage and replace as necessary. Install the gasket between control valve (1) and oil manifold (2).

2. Install bolts (5) securing control valve (1) and oil manifold (2).

3. Connect control valve inlet line (3) at the control valve.

4. Connect oil cooler inlet line (4) at the swivel coupling.

Control Valve Disassembly


CONTROL VALVE DISASSEMBLED
1-Selector lever. 2-Detent assembly. 3-Load piston. 4-Pressure regulating springs. 5-Spacers. 6-Relief valve. 7-Damping valve. 8-Valve body. 9-Bottom cover. 10-Top cover. 11-Check valve. 12-Stop. 13-Directional valve. 14-Check valve spring. 15-Bushing and seal.

1. Remove the three top cover (10) retaining bolts.


NOTICE

Use extreme care when removing valves from the valve body. Nicked or scratched valves can cause improper operation of the control valve.


2. Remove load piston (3), springs (4), stop (12), check valve (11) and check valve spring (14) from the top of valve body (8).

3. Remove the three bottom cover (9) retaining bolts.

4. Remove the directional valve (13), relief valve (6) and spacers (5) from the bottom of the valve.

Control Valve Assembly

1. Install directional valve spool (13) in valve body (8) from cover (9) end.

2. Insert selector lever (1) into hole in spool (13) stem. Carefully align components so detent assembly (2) doesn't fall out of cover assembly (10).

3. Install spacers (5) in relief valve (6), placing thicker spacers toward springs (4), and install in valve body (8) from cover (9) end.

4. Install bottom cover (9) and the three bottom cover retaining bolts.

5. Install springs (4), load piston (3), spring (14), check valve (11) and stop (12) into valve body (8). Install cover (10) and the three top cover retaining bolts.
