Flywheel Housing

Usage:

Remove Flywheel Housing

preparatory steps:

a) remove oil pan base

b) remove starter

c) remove raw water pump

d) remove jacket water pump

e) remove crankshaft rear seal ring & thrower

1. Remove the right air cleaner housing support bracket-to-flywheel housing mounting bolts and spacers.

2. Remove the raw water pump water outlet line.

3. Remove the turbocharger lubrication valve oil inlet line (1). Remove the turbocharger lubrication lines (2) as a unit.

4. Remove the left and right turbocharger oil drain lines.

5. Remove the flywheel housing mounting bolts and nuts. Attach a hoist and lifting bracket (A), and remove the flywheel housing - weight 390 lbs. (177 kg).

Install Flywheel Housing

1. Install a new flywheel housing-to-timing gear plate gasket. Trim the gasket flush with pan face of cylinder block.

2. Attach a hoist and lifting bracket (A) to the flywheel housing. Position the housing on engine making sure that gear on flywheel housing is engaged with oil pump idler gear and crankshaft gear. Install housing retaining bolts and nuts.

3. Install the turbocharger oil drain lines. Install the turbocharger lubrication lines and valve oil inlet line.

4. Install the raw water pump water outlet line.

5. Install the right air cleaner housing support bracket mounting bolts and spacers.

concluding steps:

a) install crankshaft rear seal ring & thrower

b) install jacket water pump

c) install raw water pump

d) install starter

e) install oil pan base
