PRODUCT LINE ADDITIONS: REMANUFACTURED CYLINDERS AND RODS

Announcement

The Caterpillar Remanufactured Products Group announces major additions to the remanufactured cylinder and rod product lines for use on:

These Cat Reman products are being made available to assist dealers with cost-effective repair options for hydraulic cylinders and rods and to meet the customers' demand for quick repair turnaround. These remanufactured products also complement the dealers' efforts in providing full hydraulic repair capabilities.

This is the second in a series of planned cylinder and rod product releases which constitute a major increased coverage initiative for Cat Reman Hydraulic Components.

Core Acceptance

Core Acceptance Criteria SELD0041, SELD0042, and SELD0206 have been developed specifically for hydraulic cylinders and rods and can be found in the Core Acceptance Guideline section of the Reman Products Guide. The core may qualify for a full core refund, damaged core refund, or no core refund, depending upon condition.

Core Management/Returns

Please refer to the Caterpillar Core Management Information System (CMIS) entitlement parts inquiry screen describing the list of parts in a Core Acceptability Family (CAF) and related part number detail. This information is available at all North American Commercial Division Caterpillar Dealerships. Also, refer to the Reman Products Guide section called "Operations & Core Management" for complete information concerning Reman Policies and Core Management
(SELD0122-05), Core Management Systems & Operations Procedures (SELD0040-07), and Shipping Instructions (SELD0039-04).

Availability

All of these cylinders and rods are currently available for order. Caterpillar has established distribution-center inventory levels based upon estimated normal demand. Dealer input can help better allocate this material. If you expect to have a significant demand for these new Caterpillar remanufactured components, please provide your Caterpillar (subsidiary) marketing organization's Reman contact or your Caterpillar district representative with your forecasted part number requirements by month in advance to help ensure components are available to meet your needs.

Promotion

To improve customer awareness of these Cat Reman products, the Datasheet PEHP1005 is available. It describes the features and benefits of current Caterpillar Remanufactured Hydraulic Cylinders and Rods and may be used as a direct mail piece or point-of-sale reference. Additionally, these cylinders and rods will be added to the next addition of the Cat Hydraulic Cylinder and Seal Handbook, and also can be found in the Hydraulic Information System (HIS). Another valuable Datasheet is Cat Reman Coverage for Earthmoving Equipment (PEDP5034), which is the cornerstone promotional piece for all Reman Products.

Warranty

All Caterpillar Remanufactured Hydraulic Cylinders and Rods are covered by a six-month warranty, which is the same as new.

Correction

In a recent Hydraulic Cylinder and Rod IRM, REM00-21 (PELE0723), the correct Reman part number for the new part number 116-0733 should be 0R8995. This is a Cylinder Assembly for a 416C. Sorry for any confusion this may have caused.
