Description Of Change: New flood lamp groups for cab front light, cab rear light, and hood light are now used on machines listed above. The new lamps use hardened glass lens to withstand high temperatures in dirty environment.

The new lamp groups are adaptable to the machines within the listed serial numbers and are effective with all machines after the listed serial numbers.

For the replacement procedure, follow the below rework intructions.

  • Cab front light, cab rear light and hood light have a replacement procedure, please follow this procedure for service.

  • Apply the mounting torques that are shown in the replacement procedure and use common tooling.

  • Minor adjustment to cab front light mounting position is required on window guard rail. For details, refer to the replacement procedure of cab front light.

  • Keep good clearance for the lighting with the cab, cab roof, and hood.

  • Do not change any lighting harness routing.

Replacement of Cab Front Light 426-5380 Flood Lamp Gp

  1. When the cab front light is burnt, replace the existing 426-5380 Flood Lamp Gp with new 479-8451 Flood Lamp Gp (2).

  2. Take out the lighting harness connector and then take out the lamp mounting nut.

  3. Assemble the new flood lamp gp (2) and then connect the lighting harness connector

  4. Tighten to a final mounting torque of 18 ± 2 N·m (159 ± 18 lb in). For lateral adjustment, tighten to 7 ± 1 N·m (62 ± 9 lb in).

  5. If the machine has the front window guard assembled, the cab front light installed at window guard and the light mounting hole (A) needs to be moved forward 5.0 mm (0.19 inch) as shown in Illustration 2, to keep the clearance between cab roof and light.

Note: Only the burnt light can be replaced, but the new light has different light pattern from the old light. If it is required to align light pattern, replace two lights.

Replacement of Cab Rear Light 426-5380 Flood Lamp Gp

  1. When the cab rear light is burnt, replace the existing 426-5380 Flood Lamp Gp with new 479-8445 Flood Lamp Gp (1). The mounting points for the cab rear lights are indicated with arrows in Illustration 3.

  2. Take out the lighting harness connector and then take out the lamp mounting nut.

  3. Assemble the new flood lamp gp (1) and then connect the lighting harness connector

  4. Tighten to a final mounting torque of 18 ± 2 N·m (159 ± 18 lb in). For lateral adjustment, tighten to 7 ± 1 N·m (62 ± 9 lb in).

Note: Only the burnt light can be replaced, but the new light has different light pattern from the old light. If it is required to align light pattern, replace two or four lights.

Replacement of Hood Light 466-2421 Flood Lamp Gp

  1. When the hood light is burnt, replace the existing 466-2421 Flood Lamp Gp with new 479-8445 Flood Lamp Gp (1).

  2. Take out three mounting screws, lighting harness connector and one light mounting plate along with the light.

  3. Take out the 132-5789 Clip and grommet from the old mounting plate.

    Use the new 557-5018 Plate (3) with replacing the old light mounting plate.

  4. Adjust the grommet a bit to make grommet sit in new mounting plate hole well.

  5. Assemble the 132-5789 Clip and new light (1) to mounting plate (3).

  6. Tighten to a final mounting torque of 18 ± 2 N·m (159 ± 18 lb in). Lateral adjust the light angle to keep the light glass lens parallel with hood bezel as shown in Illustration 5, tighten to 7 ± 1 N·m (62 ± 9 lb in).

  7. Connect harness connector, mounting plate (3) and three screws, torque to 12 ± 3 N·m (106 ± 26 lb in)

Note: Only the burnt light can be replaced, but the new light has different light pattern from the old light. If it is required to align light pattern, replace two lights to hood.
