  1. Cut cable straps (1).

  2. Disconnect harness assembly (2).

  3. Remove bolts (3) and the washers. Remove sensor (payload) (4).

  4. If necessary, repeat steps 1 through 3 for the remaining sensors (payload) (4).

Installation Procedure

Note: When installing the sensors (payload) (4) ensure the following:

  • When attaching the sensors (payload) (4), concentrate on completing one sensor (payload) (4) at a time. Attempting to put adhesive on all eight sensors (payload) (4) at once saves little time, but allows the possibility for contamination.

  • Before starting, ensure that the mounting pads are not damaged and are free of rust. To clean, use 100 to 240 grit paper wrapped around a flat steel block. Taking care to keep the mounting surface flat remove minimum of material to clean the surface. Alternatively use a file to draw file the surface (do not use power tools)

  • Minimum of 2 hours after the last sensor (payload) (4) is applied for the adhesive to achieve 90% bond strength. Do not move the machine for at least 2 hours.

  1. Use Tooling (A) to Clean the mounting pads on the beams and each sensor (pay load) (4) .

  2. Apply Tooling (B) and (C) to the beam and the pad of sensor (payload) (4).

Note: Be generous with application, but be careful not to get the adhesive in any threads on the pad of sensor (payload) (4).

  3. Attach sensor (payload) (4) to the beam using two bolts (3) and the washers.

    Tighten bolts (3) to a torque of 55 N·m (41 lb ft).

  4. Connect harness assembly (2).

  5. Secure harness (2) in place using two cable ties (1).

  6. Repeat Step 1 through Step 4 for the seven remaining sensors (payload) (4).

  7. Calibrate sensors (payload) (4). Refer to, Test and Adjust, "Calibration Using Electronic Service Tool", Test and Adjust, "Empty Machine - Calibrate", and Test and Adjust, "Loaded Machine - Calibrate".
