Introduction

The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.

Problem

485-3139 Support Panel (rain gutter) sometimes installed upside down. Channel should take any water ingression away from the front of the radiator, and not conflict with airflow. This issue is due to misunderstanding of part orientation and up fit in production line.

Caterpillar is aware of this issue and working towards a permanent solution. As an interim action, documentation was updated and operators were given clear instruction on how to fit and to do 100% inspection on all these packages.
