The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.
Problem
Incompatible Electronic Control Module (ECM) connected with engine display leads to data loss.
Solution
Caterpillar® is aware of this problem, but a permanent repair has not been identified. As an interim solution follow the repair instruction given below.
Replace former Engine Ratings Electronic Control with new Engine Ratings Electronic Control.
The new and former part numbers are listed in Table 1.
