Problem
Certain 3412 Generator Sets wiring is configured incorrectly, configuration for wiring on shopfloor papers did not match customer requirement.

Caterpillar is aware of this issue and is reworking in-house stock. Dealers facing the issue in the field can ensure that alternators are checked for being wired correctly. Refer to Illustration 1.
Ensure that the alternator is wired for series star or parallel star as shown in Illustration 1. Review Table 1 and 2 given below which confirms the wiring configuration for each alternator part number, giving particular attention to the dedicated windings for 380V parallel star.
