Asphalt Mat Temperature - If Equipped

Usage:

CB16 HP5

Illustration 1g06393194

Front and rear asphalt mat temperature sensors are a combined option. An infrared sensor and air pump is positioned in the front and rear of the machine. The air pump supplies a flow of ambient air across the sensor lens to help prevent airborne contaminants from contacting it. The sensors and air pumps are energized when the engine start switch is in the ON position.

The sensor accuracy is ± 3° C (± 6° F) for a temperature range between 0° C ± 116°C (32° F ± 240° F) and ± 5% for all other temperatures. The output voltage signal of the sensor has a range of 0 – 5 VDC. The infrared sensors are calibrated at the factory and cannot be field calibrated.

The monitoring system can be set to display the Asphalt Mat Temperature. For information on changing which signals are viewed on the monitoring system refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, “Monitoring System”. The sensors operate independently. The temperature displayed will be from the leading sensor in the direction of machine travel. If the propel lever is in the STOP position, the temperature displayed will be from the sensor in front of the operator.
