Introduction

The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.

Problem

Backup alarm may fail on the machines listed above. The failure is due to ingression of moisture through the potting void.

Solution

Caterpillar is aware of this problem, and is recommending the following interim solution. In the event of failure, replace the failed 213-9100 Alarm As with the same new part.

Note: A new backup alarm is in the validation process and targeted to release by the end of 1st quarter, 2019.
