- Remove the fan.

Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool. |
- Use Tooling (A) and Tooling (B) to remove bolt (1). Remove retainer (2) and shims (3).

- Install piston motor (5) in the reverse order.
- Apply Tooling (E) to the taper of the shaft on piston motor (5).
- Assemble the fan adapter without shims. Tighten bolt (1) to a torque of
100 ± 20 N·m (74 ± 15 lb ft) . Measure the gap between the plate and end of the shaft. Record this measurement as Dimension (X). Subtract0.40 ± 0.05 mm (0.016 ± 0.002 inch) from Dimension (X), this is the amount of required shims. - Tighten bolt (1) to a final torque of
1800 ± 200 N·m (1328 ± 148 lb ft) .
