Track Roller - Remove and Install

------ WARNING! ------

Grease is under high pressure.

Grease coming out of the relief valve under pressure can penetrate the body causing injury or death.

Do not watch the relief valve to see if grease is escaping. Watch the track or track adjustment cylinder to see if the track is being loosened.

Loosen the relief valve only one turn.

  1. Raise the side of the machine, and install Tooling (A) under the frame.

  2. Release the tension on the track. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Track Adjustment - Adjust" for the proper procedure.

  3. Use two people to support track roller (1).

  4. Remove bolts (2).

  5. Remove track roller (1). The weight of track roller (1) is approximately 14 kg (31 lb).

NOTICE

To avoid possible damage to track components, never overtighten the track assembly.


  1. Be sure that the mounting surfaces on the track roller, the track guide, and the undercarriage frame are clean and free of dirt and debris prior to installing the track roller.

  2. Use two people to position track roller (1). The weight of the track roller is approximately 14 kg (31 lb).

  3. Make sure that the plug in the track roller is facing toward the outside of the undercarriage frame. Apply Tooling (B) to bolts (2). Install bolts (2).

  4. Prior to lowering the machine to the ground and tightening the track, be sure that all the track rollers rotate smoothly by hand.

  5. Raise the machine off Tooling (A). Remove Tooling (A) from the machine. Lower the machine to the ground.

  6. Tighten the tension of the track. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Track Adjustment - Adjust" for the proper adjustment procedure.
