The air inlet system for this machine is designed for applications with extremely heavy dust. A separate precleaner (1) and air cleaner (2) is used to filter the air for each turbocharger.
To increase the life of the air cleaner elements, a precleaner is used. The precleaner removes most of the larger particles of dust before the particles reach the elements in the air cleaner. As the air enters the upper part of tubes (8), the air must pass through vanes (9). The vanes cause the air to move in a fast, circular movement. Centrifugal force spins the heavier dust out a ramped outlet at the top of the tube. The dust falls down outside the tube, and into the chamber (6) between the tubes. The cleaner air continues through the center of the precleaner (7) to the air cleaner chamber. The filter elements are located in the air cleaner chamber.
Chamber (6) is connected with a tube to the dust ejector system in the muffler. The suction from the muffler pulls the dust from chamber (6). The suction sends the dust through the muffler and through the exhaust stack.
