Service Brake (Wheel Spindle) - Remove and Install

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the fenders.

  2. Remove the drive chain.

  1. Remove two bolts (1), the washers, and cover (2). Disconnect hose assemblies (3) and (4) and remove the O-ring seals.

  2. Remove bolts (5) and the washers. Leave 2 bolts (5) installed at Locations (X).

  3. Install Tooling (A) and attach a suitable lifting device to service brake assembly (6). The weight of service brake assembly (6) is approximately 975 kg (2150 lb).

  4. Remove 2 remaining bolts (5). Install tooling (B) at 2 Locations (Y). Use Tooling (B) to remove service brake assembly (6).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install service brake assembly (6) in the reverse order of removal.

    1. Apply Tooling (C) to the threads of bolts (5).
