Description Of Change: New software is now used on certain F series Material Handlers and Wheeled Excavators. The new software includes updates that change the fan start-up from an open loop to closed loop, and increases the time before diagnostic code CID 544-11 appears. This update allows the fan to start without delay and build up to high speed normally.
Adaptable To: The following software is adaptable to the machines within the listed serial numbers, and are effective with all machines after the listed serial numbers.
The Engine ECM 548-1827 Software Group and the Machine ECM 549-6464 Software Group are now used.
The software files are available in the form of a flash file through the Caterpillar Service Information System (SIS). A newer part number may be available. SIS web only displays the latest available flash file.
