(1) Pressure gauge
(2) Control manifold

  1. Attach 8T-0857 Pressure Gauge to the quick disconnect plug on control manifold (2).

  2. Use gauge (1) to perform the following test.

  3. Start the engine and run the engine at high RPM.

  4. Place the travel/pave/maneuver speed control in the PAVE position. Turn the maximum propel speed potentiometer to one half. Release the parking brake. Slowly move the propel lever in the forward direction.

  5. Observe the pressure reading on gauge (1) that is mounted on control manifold (2). The gauge reading should be 4482 ± 207 kPa (650 ± 30 psi). Place the machine in the NEUTRAL position. Place the throttle control in the low position. Stop the engine. If the gauge reading is correct, proceed to Step 9.

  6. If the gauge reading is not within the specified range, the pressure reducing valve needs to be adjusted.

    (4) Pressure reducing valve

  7. Locate the pressure reducing valve (4) under the floorplate. The pressure reducing valve is just above the hydraulic tank.

  8. Remove the cap for adjusting knob (3). Turn the adjusting knob to adjust the pressure. Repeat Step 2 through Step 5 to check the pressure until the correct pressure is achieved.

  9. When pressure is properly set, replace the cap for adjusting knob (3). Remove gauge (1) on control manifold (2).
