Start By:

  1. Remove the piston motor (swing).

Note: Mark all components for correct installation. Before you disassemble the unit, cover the ports and clean the outside of the unit.

  1. Remove bolts (1) from port plate (2).

    Note: Put alignment marks on the motor for assembly purposes.

  2. Remove port plate (2) from housing (3).

  3. Remove O-ring seal (4) and port plate (5) from housing (3).

  4. Remove bolts (6) from flushing valve (7).

  5. Remove flushing valve (7) from port plate (2).

    ------ WARNING! ------

    Personal injury can result from parts and/or covers under spring pressure.

    Spring force will be released when covers are removed.

    Be prepared to hold spring loaded covers as the bolts are loosened.


  6. Remove lock screws (8) from flushing valve (7).

  7. Remove O-ring seal (9) from lock screws (8).

  8. Remove springs (10) from flushing valve (7).

  9. Remove discs (11) from flushing valve (7).

  10. Remove spool (12) from flushing valve (7).

  11. Remove plug (13) from flushing valve (7).

  12. Remove O-ring seal (14) from plug (13).

  13. Remove shims (15) from flushing valve (7).

  14. Remove spring (16) from flushing valve (7).

  15. Remove poppet (17) from flushing valve (7).

  16. Remove retainer (19) and orifice (18) from poppet (17).

  17. Use Tooling (A) to remove retaining ring (20).

    Note: Protect the shaft. Use shrink wrap or electrical tape. Put shrink wrap around the splined drive shaft to prevent damage to the drive shaft or the seals during disassembly of the motor.

  18. Remove cover (21). Remove seal (22) from cover (21).

  19. Remove O-ring seal (22) and shims (23) from the housing.

  20. Attach Tooling (B) to housing (3) and rotating group (24), as shown.

  21. Use Tooling (B) to remove rotating group (24) from the housing. The barrel must not bind while the barrel is pulled through the housing. Do not allow the barrel to separate from the pistons during the removal procedure.

  22. Remove barrel (25) from the pistons.

  23. Remove spring (26) and shim (27) from barrel (25).

  24. Remove screws (28) from the shaft. Remove plate (29) and the pistons from the shaft.

  25. Remove pin (30) and pistons (31) from plate (29). The piston rings are nonserviceable separately from the pistons.

  26. Remove retaining ring (32) from shaft (33).

  27. Use Tooling (C) to remove bearings (34) from shaft (33). The bearings are serviced only as a kit to maintain proper bearing preload.
