Proper maintenance of locks can extend the life of the lock cylinders. Lubricate the lock cylinders using a Dry Film Aerosol Lubricant with PTFE (Teflon) during pre-delivery inspection and at least once per year, as needed. Cat recommends using Loctite Krytox RFE or Tri-Flow with PTFE.

Note: Do not use WD-40 or any other oil-based lubricant as the lubricant can attract dirt and bind the tumblers in the lock cylinder.

1. Insert the straw through the lock door and spray the inner part of the lock thoroughly.

2. Insert the key into the lock and cycle the lock to work the lubricant throughout the lock and lock tumblers. Refer to Illustration 2 and 3.
