Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Scrubber - Replace

Usage:

Over time, the CO2 scrubber media will need to be replaced. The system will track the number of discharge hours. The system will also calculate the life remaining in the CO2 scrubber. The system will activate a fault when it reaches the point where the media needs to be replaced.

  1. Verify that the unit is shut down prior to performing any work.

  2. Remove the cell next to the CO2 scrubber cartridge that will be replaced.

  3. Disconnect the cathode fan plug from the harness.

  4. Remove the recirculation adapter screw and then slide off the adapter. Leave the adapter and pipe installed in the cartridge.

  5. Remove the screw from the second adapter. Slide off the adapter. Leave the adapter and pipe installed in the cartridge.

  6. Remove the cartridge assembly from the cabinet and set on a stable surface.

  7. Remove the plugs on the new cartridge assembly.

  8. Remove the screw holding on the cathode fan adapter on the existing cartridge assembly.

  9. Remove the cathode fan adapter and baffle assembly from the existing cartridge assembly and install on the new cartridge assembly.

  10. Torque screw to 0.3 N·m (3 lb in).

  11. Remove the additional pipe. Install the pipe on the new cartridge assembly.

  12. Install the new cartridge assembly using the reverse order of removal.

  13. Torque the two screws for the adapters to 0.3 N m (3 lb in)
