A New NRS Cooler Assembly Is Now Used for Certain C15 and C18 Industrial Engines {108G}

Description Of Change: The new NRS cooler assembly has improved coolant flow to resist thermal fatigue.

Adaptable To: The new 436-9149 Cooler As replaces the existing 436-9150 Cooler As. The new cooler assembly is adaptable back to first production on the serial numbers listed above.

When refilling the engine coolant, be sure to get all the air out of the system to protect the NRS cooler. Preferred coolant refill method is to vacuum fill. If vacuum filling is not an option, run engine at idle without pressure cap installed not allowing the system to pressurize. Make sure to reinstall pressure cap after the air has been purged. Do not run the engine this way for an extended amount of time.

Refer to Table 1 for a list of part numbers needed to install the new NRS cooler.

Note: A new 324-9290 Bellows As and two new 9N-5085 Clamp will be installed on the exhaust inlet side of the NRS cooler. A new 9N-5085 Clamp will be installed on the exhaust outlet side of the NRS cooler.
