New Pressure Sensor Group Is Now Used On Certain 3512 and 3516 Engines With EMCP 4.x Controls {1408}

Generator Set: 3512 (S/N: YAK1-UP; YAX1-UP); 3512 GEN SET (S/N: ZAF1-UP); 3512B (S/N: YAM1-UP); 3516 (S/N: YAL1-UP; ZAL1-UP; YAS1-UP)

Description Of Change: The new engine oil pressure sensor is now used with EMCP 4.x controls on certain engines that are listed above.

Adaptable To: A new active 380-1882 Pressure Sensor Gp is now available for use with EMCP 4.x controls. The new 380-1882 Pressure Sensor Gp is a direct replacement for the former 246-8150 Pressure Sensor.

Perform the following steps to the engine prior to the effective serial numbers.

Remove the 246-8150 Pressure Sensor from the engine block. Install 362-1142 Adapter, 4M-5317 Adapter, and the new 380-1882 Pressure Sensor.
Change the harness connector at the sensor to a 297-5484 Connector Plug As with the 5V supply at pin 1, ground at pin 2, and signal at pin 3 using a 9X-3402 Connector Socket.
Add an extra 18 gauge wire to the harness from the new active sensor to the EMCP for a 5V supply from Pin 1 of the sensor connector to Pin 16 on the EMCP 4.1 and 4.2 models. Also add an extra 18 gauge wire from Pin 1 of the sensor connector to Pin 56, 61, or 62, and analog input 1, 2, or 3 respectively on the EMCP 4.3 and 4.4 models using a 9X-3402 Connector Socket.
Change the analog input 1-3 configurable parameter "Signal Type" in the EMCP from "Passive" to "Voltage".
Change the analog input 1-3 configurable parameter "Signal Range" in the EMCP from "0-5V".
Set the analog input 1-3 configurable parameter "Maximum Data Range" in the EMCP to "600.000".

This change is effective for the serial numbers listed in Table 1.
