- Ensure that all components are clean and free from wear and damage. If necessary, replace any components that are worn or damaged.

Illustration 1 g03819693 Typical example - Clean the gasket surface of exhaust gas recirculation valve (2) and the inlet manifold.
- Position a new gasket (7) (not shown) onto throttle valve (2). Ensure that the gasket is correctly orientated.
- Position throttle valve (2) onto the inlet manifold.
- Apply Tooling (A) to the threads of bolts (4).
- Install bolts (4) to throttle valve (2). Tighten the bolts to a torque of
10 N·m (89 lb in) . - Connect harness assembly (1) for throttle valve (2).
