Fuel Tank - Remove and Install

Usage:

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Tilt the operator platform. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Operator Platform - Tilt".

------ WARNING! ------

Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire. To help prevent possible injury, turn the start switch off when changing fuel filters or water separator elements. Clean up fuel spills immediately.


  1. Drain the fuel from the fuel tank into a suitable container. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual for the correct procedure.

  2. Disconnect two hose assemblies (1) from fuel tank (2).

  3. Disconnect hose assembly (3).

  4. Support fuel tank (2) with a suitable hydraulic jack.

  5. Remove the two bolts and control valve (4) from fuel tank (2).

  6. Disconnect harness assembly (6).

  7. Remove four bolts (5), the eight washers, the four nuts, the two strap assemblies, and fuel tank (2).

  8. Remove bolts (7), fuel level sender assembly (10), and gasket (9) from fuel tank (2).

  9. Remove tube assembly (8) and O-ring seal (11) from fuel tank (2).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install fuel tank (2) in the reverse order of removal.

    1. Tighten bolts (7) to a torque of 2.3 ± 0.25 N·m (20.4 ± 2.21 lb in). Tighten bolts (7) two times in a star pattern.

End By:

  1. Lower the operator platform. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Operator Platform - Tilt".
