  1. Attach a suitable lifting device, Tooling (E), Tooling (C), and Tooling (D) to bumper (7).

  2. Secure a lift truck to the front of the machine.

  3. Apply Tooling (J) to the tube of the oscillating hitch. Use the lift truck and the suitable lifting device in order to position the front frame to the rear frame and install the oscillating hitch to the rear frame. The weight of the front frame is approximately 1361 kg (3000 lb). Reposition Tooling (A) under the front frame.

  4. Attach a suitable lifting device and Tooling (H) to bearing carrier (16) and the hitch drive shaft and position bearing carrier (16) and the hitch drive shaft. The weight of bearing carrier (16) and the hitch drive shaft is approximately 56 kg (123 lb).

  5. Install bolts (17) to bearing carrier (16). Tighten bolts (17) to a torque of 100 ± 20 N·m (74 ± 15 lb ft). Remove Tooling (H).

  6. Apply Tooling (K) to the splines of the hitch drive shaft. Position shaft yoke (14) and the O-ring seal to bearing carrier (15) and the hitch drive shaft. Install bolt (12) and washer (13). Tighten bolt (12) to a torque of 100 ± 20 N·m (74 ± 15 lb ft).

    Note: The shaft yoke on the front and on the rear of the hitch shaft must be in alignment or a vibration may occur at high speeds.

  7. Apply Tooling (L) to the threads of thrust plate (11). Position locking plate (9) and install thrust plate (11). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Oscillating Hitch - Adjust".

  8. Position locking plate (9) and install bolts (10). Tighten bolts (10) to a torque of 100 ± 20 N·m (74 ± 15 lb ft).

  9. Install clamp (6). Remove Tooling (A) and Tooling (B).

  10. Connect six hose assemblies (4). Install bolt (3). Connect two harness assemblies (5) (not shown).

  11. If installed, position tube assembly (2) and tighten clamps (1).

  12. Remove Tooling (F) from the wheels and disengage the parking brake. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON position.

End By:

  1. Install the hitch drive shaft.

  2. Install the center drive shaft.
