Removal Procedure

Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire. To help prevent possible injury, turn the start switch off when changing fuel filters or water separator elements. Clean up fuel spills immediately.

1. Open the engine enclosure.

2. Open the left side access door. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

3. Open the right side access door.

4. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Fuel Tank Water and Sediment - Drain" for the correct draining and filling procedure.

5. Disconnect hose assemblies (3) from fuel filter base (1) .

6. Use Tooling (A) and remove fuel filter (2) from fuel filter base (1) .

7. Remove the two bolts, the two washers, and fuel filter base (1) .

Installation Procedure

1. Install fuel filter base (1) in the reverse order of removal.
