New Software Is Now Used on Certain C18 Auxiliary and Generator Set Engines {1920}
- Generator Set:
- C18 (S/N: STM1-UP; CYN1-UP; GEN1-UP; MGS1-UP)
Description of Change: The low oil pressure shutdown fault occurs from 100 rpm to 0 rpm as the engine is shutting down.
The new software also has 0 kPa for the oil pressure map for engine speeds below 500 RPM during engine shutdown and allows the customer to change the shutdown time delay to a range of 2 to 8 seconds.
Note: The setting mentioned above is located in the Programmable Monitoring System (PMS) in Caterpillar Electronic Technician (Cat® ET).
Adaptable To: The new software replaces the former software in the above engines. The new software is adaptable to the above engines back to first production.
The new software and former software are listed in Table 1.
